Rented and shared-ownership homes
Around 370 Fordham households rent. For landlords we focus on durable finishes that are easy to match later: fixings filled, marks stain-blocked and walls finished in a scrubbable emulsion, so the next change of tenant needs less work. Tenants who want to redecorate should get the landlord's agreement first, and we're happy to quote either party.
Shared owners, 15 households here, can check their lease before booking, as the housing provider sometimes sets rules on alterations.
Two-bedroom homes to family houses
Three-bedroom homes are the most common size, at 39%, but a quarter of households have just two bedrooms. Smaller rooms suit lighter colours and a consistent ceiling white, and bedroom decorating one room at a time keeps the rest of the house in use.
Across the Fordham area, around 460 properties were added between 2021 and 2025, per Council Tax records. Their walls are new plaster and plasterboard that settle and crack in the first few years, and the worst of those cracks may need a plasterer in Fordham before we paint.

How we approach interior decorating
In a Fordham rental we'd list every mark, hole and stain in the quotation, seal stains with Zinsser and use a washable finish such as Little Greene Intelligent Matt. In a new home we'd fill joint cracks, spot-prime and apply two coats. In older rooms, we check the plaster and line walls that are cracked or uneven before painting. The full method, products and FAQs are on our interior decorating page.
