Painter and decorator for Northstowe's new homes
The 2021 Census caught Northstowe early in its life, with 1,019 households and 2,643 residents. The town is forecast to reach about 25,400 residents in 15,000 homes, in a development led by Homes England, so those figures describe a place near the start of its growth. It became a civil parish on 1 April 2021, formed from parts of Longstanton and Oakington and Westwick.
Most homes here are family-sized. Detached houses made up about 41% of the stock in 2021 and semis another 32%, while a third of households had four or more bedrooms. Almost three quarters owned their home, most of them with a mortgage.
What a young house usually needs from a decorator
A new house rarely needs stripping or skimming. What it tends to need is attention to the hairline cracks that open as fresh plaster dries out and timber settles, and a better finish than the thin emulsion many homes are handed over with. We fill and sand those cracks, spot-prime, and give walls two full coats of paint that can be wiped.
Plenty of owners also want colour where the house arrived plain. Graham paints tester pots in several places so you can see each shade in morning and evening light. Our interior decorating page explains the process, and if the units are next, see kitchen cabinet painting in Northstowe.
How we work with Northstowe households
Northstowe is about 12.9 miles by road from Banworth House in Landbeach. Graham visits every job, writes the quotation himself and we keep to it, with any extras agreed before they're done. Belinda organises the project and keeps you up to date.
Our 12 decorators are City & Guilds or NVQ qualified, we're Dulux Select Decorators, and we carry £5 million public liability insurance. We tidy each day and walk round the finished rooms with you, and payment only comes once you're happy with them. You can read what customers say on our reviews page.
