Fence painting for Northstowe's new gardens
Houses made up nearly 89% of Northstowe homes in 2021, and detached houses alone were about 41%. Detached plots often have fencing on three sides plus a side gate, which adds up to a lot of timber.
New panels and posts usually leave the factory with some treatment, so check what has been applied before choosing a finish. A stain lets the grain show and is easier to recoat. An opaque garden paint gives an even colour across boards that have started to weather differently.
Sheds and gates
On sheds we paint the door edges, the underside of window frames and the boards nearest the ground, because those are where water gets in first. Gates have their hinges and latches masked or removed, and every face, top and bottom edges included, gets a coat.
We can only paint fences that are yours, or the neighbour's side with their permission. More detail is on our shed and fence painting page, and customer comments are on our reviews page.

How we approach shed, fence & gate painting
Even new timber collects dirt and green growth, so we clean it first, using a gentle method on rough-sawn panels. Plants, paving and anything nearby are covered, and the wood must be dry before the first coat. We brush most fences, using our Graco cordless sprayer only where overspray can be properly controlled. The full method, products and FAQs are on our shed, fence & gate painting page.
