Fence painting in Cottenham
Panels and posts take the weather on both faces, and the bottom few inches stay damp longest. We wash off green algae with an anti-fungal wash, let the timber dry, and make sure posts and gravel boards get full coverage. Paint gives a solid colour, while a stain shows the grain and is simpler to refresh. Split or loose panels are best repaired before painting, and we will point out any that need it.
The far side of a boundary fence may belong to your neighbour, and some panels may be theirs entirely. A quick conversation before Graham's visit means the quotation covers the right panels.
Sheds, gates and decking
Sheds and gates get the same care as house joinery: loose paint scraped, bare wood primed, hinges and latches masked. If a shed floor or frame has rotted, our carpenter or master builder can repair it first. Our shed painting page covers summerhouses too, and for decks there is decking staining and oiling.

How we approach shed, fence & gate painting
We start with an anti-fungal clean and a dry spell, going softer on rough-sawn fence panels than on painted sheds. Flaking areas are scraped and sanded, end grain sealed and bare timber primed. Plants and paths are covered, and long fence runs are either brushed or sprayed with the Graco unit where overspray can be kept in check. The full method, products and FAQs are on our shed, fence & gate painting page.
