Painter and decorator in Landbeach, close to home
Landbeach is a small fen-edge village about three miles north of Cambridge. The 2021 Census counted 927 residents in 375 households. Nearly half of those homes are detached (48%) and another 29% are semi-detached, so most jobs here involve a whole house with its own outside walls and garden.
Flats are rare, at around 3% of homes, and about 33 households, close to 9%, live in a caravan or mobile home. Seven in ten households own their home, while roughly 29% rent, split almost evenly between social and private landlords.
Old houses, the Tithe Barn and the conservation area
Historic England lists 26 buildings in the parish. The Parish Church of All Saints is Grade I, The Old Rectory is Grade II*, and the rest are Grade II, among them 22 High Street and the thatched, weatherboarded Tithe Barn, which was renovated and rethatched in 2019–20. There is also a Landbeach conservation area, and Car Dyke, the Roman canal known locally as the Tilling, runs through the village.
Council Tax records for the area put almost a fifth of homes before 1919, though those figures also take in part of neighbouring Waterbeach. If your home is listed, ask South Cambridgeshire District Council before changing an outside colour.
What we do for Landbeach homes
Most enquiries are for interior decorating, exterior painting and wallpaper hanging. Our plasterers skim ceilings, Chris sands and oils wooden floors, and we paint kitchen units, sheds and fences as well. We have been decorating since 1999, and the team is 12 City & Guilds or NVQ qualified decorators.
Once you accept the quotation, Belinda arranges the dates and answers your questions. We tidy every evening, and you don't pay until you're happy with the finished work. Our nearest documented project is about two miles away, a Farrow & Ball scheme in Waterbeach.
