A town that has grown quickly
Littleport had 4,107 households in the 2021 Census, with just under 10,000 residents. Council Tax records show how much of that is recent: about 38% of properties were built in 2000 or later, and more than 1,200 since 2009. Semi-detached houses are the most common type, at 39% of homes.
Newer houses need different decorating from older ones. Fresh plasterboard can settle and show cracks along the joints in its first few years, which we fill before painting. The older part of the stock, about 12% from before 1919, brings its own jobs: uneven walls, period woodwork and sash windows.
Listed buildings and the Littleport conservation area
There are 9 listed buildings in Littleport parish, including the Grade II* Church of St George and Grade II buildings at 5 High Street and 3 Station Road. The town also has a conservation area. For exterior work on a listed building or in the conservation area, check with East Cambridgeshire District Council before changing colours or materials.
Painting and decorating work we take on in Littleport
Most enquiries are for interior decorating, painting house exteriors and hanging wallpaper. We also paint kitchen units, respray uPVC frames, paint sheds and fences, and bring in our own plasterers and floor specialist when a job needs them. Our nearest area page is Ely, where Graham Burrell reviewed the bedroom we decorated for him.
Belinda organises the dates and keeps you informed throughout. We tidy every day, walk round the finished work with you, and you don't pay until you're happy with it.
