Lining paper for older Littleport walls
Pre-war walls have usually been patched, painted and papered several times. Stripping them back can reveal cracks, loose areas and old paste that would stop a new paper adhering. We wash, fill and size the wall, then hang lining paper where needed so the finish paper dries onto an even surface.
If a wall turns out to need more than lining, our plasterers can skim it within the same job. We'll show you what we've found and agree any extra cost first.
Wallpaper feature walls in newer homes
Over a third of Littleport's homes date from 2000 or later, and their walls are generally flatter. A single feature wall behind a bed or along one side of a dining room is a common starting point. We'll hold samples up in the room so you can judge the pattern scale before ordering.
Murals and photo wallpaper are another option. Mrs Lee in March had John hang hers and told us it looked really stunning, and you can read more from customers on our reviews page.

How we approach wallpapering
We strip old paper, including painted-over layers, wash off paste and fill. Older walls are lined; newer ones are sized or primed as the paper maker recommends. We plan the repeat so the least visible join falls in a corner, hang from a plumb line, and trim neatly around sockets and architraves. The full method, products and FAQs are on our wallpapering page.
