Surveying a Littleport exterior
Graham walks round first, looking for cracked masonry, blown render, soft timber and failed putty. Those repairs go into the written quotation so you know the full picture before work starts. For larger repairs we bring in our master builder or carpenter.
Shaded walls often carry algae or mould. We jet wash with an anti-fungal wash that kills the spores, then let the wall dry before any paint goes on. The Cambridge exterior restoration shows the difference that makes.
House painting near listed buildings and in the conservation area
Littleport's conservation area and its 9 listed buildings mean some exteriors need a little more thought. If your home is in the conservation area, check with East Cambridgeshire District Council before painting bare brick or changing the colour of the front. We'll paint test patches so you can see a colour in daylight.
On newer houses, of which there are more than 1,800 from 2000 onwards, the work is often the roofline and timber: fascias, soffits, doors and window frames. Gutters and downpipes are usually done in the same visit.

How we approach exterior painting
Each Littleport exterior gets a survey, an anti-fungal jet wash and proper drying time. Loose paint is scraped and sanded, cracks filled with exterior filler and powdery surfaces stabilised. Bare timber is primed and undercoated before finish coats, using masonry paint that lets the wall breathe, and we schedule the work for the drier months. The full method, products and FAQs are on our exterior painting page.
