House painting in Northstowe while the homes are young
The 2021 Census counted 418 detached and 326 semi-detached homes. On houses this new, the brick and render rarely need a full repaint. What we're more often asked about is exterior timber that has weathered faster than expected, front doors that have faded, and green algae on shaded walls.
Painting over algae traps it, so we jet wash with an anti-fungal wash and let the surface dry before anything else. Our exterior restoration case study shows that method on an older house.
Colour changes and estate rules
No Historic England conservation area lies mainly within Northstowe, although Longstanton's clips the edge of the parish. If your home has estate management rules or covenants, check those before changing the colour of render or a front door.
We paint test patches on a discreet area so you can judge a colour in daylight. The full survey and repair process is on our exterior house painting page.

How we approach exterior painting
Graham walks round the house first and notes any timber, sealant or render that needs attention. We jet wash where algae has taken hold, let the walls dry, then sand and prime exterior timber before undercoat and top coat. Masonry gets a breathable paint suited to the surface, and we only work on dry days. The full method, products and FAQs are on our exterior painting page.
