More wall, more roofline
A detached house has far more outside wall than a mid-terrace of similar size, and every face weathers differently. North-facing walls hold algae, south-facing timber dries out and cracks, and the roofline takes the worst of the wind. Graham walks the whole perimeter before quoting and lists repairs separately, so you can see what needs doing and why.
We jet wash with an anti-fungal wash, scrape and sand loose paint, fill cracks in masonry and prime bare wood before any finish coat.
House painting in Swavesey's conservation area
Swavesey has its own conservation area, and buildings such as Ryder's Farmhouse, Grade II*, sit among 28 listed buildings in the parish. Swapping to a new outside colour on one of those buildings is something to clear with South Cambridgeshire District Council first. Trial patches let you see a shade outdoors in daylight.
Our house painting page explains the survey and repair stages, and the exterior restoration case study shows a mould-affected house before and after.

How we approach exterior painting
We survey every elevation, then jet wash with an anti-fungal treatment and allow full drying time. Loose paint is scraped back, timber repaired or flagged for our carpenter, and masonry filled with exterior filler. Paths and plants are masked, and we work from the roofline down in breathable masonry paint and exterior-grade woodwork coats. The full method, products and FAQs are on our exterior painting page.
