Which Burwell homes it suits
More than nine Burwell households in ten live in a house and control their own windows. The few flat owners should ask the freeholder or managing agent, who will usually treat windows as part of the building.
Homes in the Burwell High Town or Burwell North Street conservation areas are a different case. A change of frame colour there may need checking with East Cambridgeshire District Council, so we'd suggest a quick enquiry before choosing a shade.
What happens on spraying day
Frames are cleaned of dirt and grease first, then abraded to give the coating a key. We mask the glass, seals, handles, sills and surrounding brick, and spray on site in coatings made for uPVC. Because it depends on the weather, spring to early autumn is the season for it. Our uPVC window spraying page goes through it step by step.
If you'd like to see a colour on your own house first, the front door can be sprayed before the windows.

How we approach upvc spraying
For a detached 1990s house we'd count every frame, including any conservatory, and agree in writing which are included. Cleaning, degreasing and keying come first, then careful masking around glass and brick. Spraying itself is booked for dry, mild days, and if rain is forecast, Belinda rearranges. The full method, products and FAQs are on our upvc spraying page.
