Houses, flats and the conservation area
About 87% of Soham households live in houses, so the frames are on walls they control. If you live in one of the town's flats, ask the freeholder or managing agent before changing frame colours, as windows are often treated as part of the building's exterior.
There's also the Soham conservation area to think about. Changing frame colour on a house inside it may need checking with East Cambridgeshire District Council, and we'd suggest doing that before choosing a shade.
Cleaning, keying and spraying on site
Frames are washed and degreased, then keyed so the coating has something to bond to. We mask glass, seals, handles, sills and brickwork, then spray in coatings made for uPVC, on site at your house.
Spraying is weather-dependent, so spring to early autumn is the season for it. If you're refreshing more of the outside, the frames can be planned alongside exterior painting in Soham.

How we approach upvc spraying
For a Soham semi we'd look at every window, door and conservatory frame and agree which are included. Each is cleaned, degreased and keyed, then masked around glass and brick. Spraying is booked for dry, mild days, and Belinda moves the date if the forecast turns. The full method, products and FAQs are on our upvc spraying page.
