How on-site spraying works
We clean the plastic thoroughly and remove any grease, then abrade it lightly so the new coating bonds. Masking goes over glass, gaskets, handles and brickwork before the frames are sprayed in place with a uPVC coating.
Graham looks at every frame before quoting and will flag any that are damaged, since a coating changes the colour but can't repair a broken window.
Permission and timing
The parish has two conservation areas, Fen Ditton and Baits Bite Lock, and 32 listed buildings. Before changing a street-facing frame colour in either area, ask South Cambridgeshire District Council. Shared-ownership households, about 3% here, may need their landlord's consent too.
Because the spraying is outdoors and weather-dependent, it's best booked from spring to early autumn. Conservatories are covered on our conservatory spraying page, and timber windows on the same house can be painted under exterior painting.

How we approach upvc spraying
Graham notes the state of each window and door, and the colour is agreed with you in advance. When we arrive, the frames are washed, degreased and keyed; then glass, rubber seals and brick edges are masked tight. The uPVC coating is sprayed on site in dry, mild conditions, so we book between spring and early autumn and keep an eye on the forecast. The full method, products and FAQs are on our upvc spraying page.
