Why uPVC spraying suits so many Fulbourn houses
Council Tax records put 430 Fulbourn homes in the 1983 to 1992 band alone. Houses of that age often had their windows replaced with white uPVC years ago, and those frames are now at the stage where they look tired long before they stop sealing.
Spraying changes the colour where the frames are fitted. The glass, seals and handles stay put. And because only about 8% of homes here are flats, most people can decide for themselves, without a freeholder's say.
Check before you change colour near the old village
Fulbourn has two conservation areas and 56 listed buildings. If your house sits in one of those areas, ask the district council before switching frames to a dark colour, as some changes to the front of a house may need consent.
The work happens outdoors and depends on the weather. Spring to early autumn is the best time to book. If the walls are due a repaint too, our Fulbourn exterior painting page covers that side.

How we approach upvc spraying
Each frame is washed and degreased to lift the film that builds up on plastic outdoors, then lightly keyed. Glass, seals, handles, brick and sills are masked. We spray thin coats of a coating made for uPVC, with drying time between them, on a dry, mild day. The full method, products and FAQs are on our upvc spraying page.
