Garden timber across Fulbourn
With 872 detached houses counted in the 2021 Census, many local gardens are bordered on three sides. That can mean a long run of fence panels, posts and gravel boards, and it is the posts and the boards at ground level that usually fail first.
We clean off algae and dirt, gently on rough-sawn panels, scrape and sand flaking paint on sheds and gates, and let everything dry before the first coat.
Paint or stain?
A solid garden paint hides the grain and evens out boards that have weathered differently. A stain lets the timber show and is usually easier to recoat later. Graham will suggest what suits yours at the visit, and we can paint small test patches first.
Please check which fences belong to you before we start; we can only paint the neighbour's side with their agreement. If the house needs work too, our exterior house painting team can do both in one visit.

How we approach shed, fence & gate painting
We clean with an anti-fungal wash where it suits the timber, sand loose fibres, protect paving and plants, and flag any rotten boards before we start. Coats go on in dry weather, from late spring to early autumn ideally. The Graco sprayer is used on long fence runs only when overspray can be controlled. The full method, products and FAQs are on our shed, fence & gate painting page.
