Larger gardens, longer fences
With 2,028 detached houses in the town, many gardens have fencing on three sides. Posts and gravel boards fail first because they sit in splashback from rain, so they get a full coat rather than a quick pass. Gates get every face finished, including the top and bottom edges where end grain soaks up water.
If your house is one of the 1,360 or so built since 2009, the fence may still carry its original factory treatment. Check what the manufacturer applied before choosing a new finish, and Graham can advise at the visit.
Paint, stain and colour
Opaque garden paints hide the grain and turn a shed into a feature. Stains let the grain show and are often easier to recoat. We'll paint test patches so you can see the colour in your own garden light for a few days.
Our exterior painting service covers the house itself, so the shed can match the front door or window frames.

How we approach shed, fence & gate painting
We'd protect plants and paving, clean off algae with an anti-fungal wash where the timber suits it, and leave everything to dry. Flaking paint on sheds and gates is scraped and sanded, hinges and latches masked or removed. Two coats go on by brush, with the Graco sprayer kept for long runs where overspray is controllable. The full method, products and FAQs are on our shed, fence & gate painting page.
