Respray rather than replace
When the glazing still seals and the frames are sound, spraying changes the colour without removing anything. The frames are cleaned and degreased, lightly keyed so the coating grips, and glass, seals, handles and brickwork are masked. Coatings made for uPVC are then sprayed on site.
Nearly every home in the village is a house, so the decision usually rests with you rather than a freeholder.
Conservation area and timing
If your home is in the Hundon conservation area, check with West Suffolk Council before changing frame colours. Spraying is weather-dependent and best from spring to early autumn, and given the 41-minute drive we plan dates around a settled forecast. Timber windows on the same house can be painted by brush to match; see sash windows.

How we approach upvc spraying
Graham checks each frame for cracks or failed seals first, since a coating cannot fix a window that needs replacing. The frames are then washed, degreased and abraded, everything around them is masked and the uPVC coating goes on in thin coats with drying time between, so the windows can be used once cured. The full method, products and FAQs are on our upvc spraying page.
