Older houses, original boards
Council Tax records list around 110 homes before 1900 and 30 from the 1930s. Lift a corner of carpet in a bedroom or landing and you may find boards that sand back to clean, warm timber, with old patches and stains that mostly blend in once oiled.
Chris, our wooden floor specialist, inspects the floor first and tells you honestly if sanding is not the right answer, for example if a later floor has been laid over the top.
Floors as part of a bigger job
Given the drive out from Landbeach, many people here book the floors with their decorating. We plan the order so sanding dust never lands on fresh paint and skirtings are touched in afterwards. The Haddenham floor restoration followed exactly that sequence.

How we approach floor sanding
Chris secures loose boards and knocks proud nails below the surface, then works through the grades with a belt sander and an edging sander. Gaps are filled with the floor's own sawdust and Induro Morrells Mix & Fill, a Mirka dust-free sander does the final smoothing, and Osmo Polyx oil goes on in thin coats. The full method, products and FAQs are on our floor sanding page.
