So much of St Ives from one era
The 1973 to 1982 band alone holds 1,900 properties, the largest single period in the town's Council Tax records. Respraying keeps the glazing, seals and handles where they are and changes only the colour of the frames, so there is no refitting and nothing to make good inside.
Houses make up about 85% of St Ives homes. If you live in one of the town's flats, check with the freeholder or management company first, as frames in a block are often a shared responsibility.
Conservation area and colour choice
Inside the St Ives conservation area, ask Huntingdonshire District Council before changing frame colours. Elsewhere, greys, greens and off-blacks are the usual choices, and Graham brings samples to hold against your brick. A matching front door, French doors or conservatory frame can be sprayed at the same time, alongside any exterior painting.

How we approach upvc spraying
Each frame is washed and degreased to strip the outdoor film that builds up on plastic, then lightly abraded to give the coating a key. We mask glass, rubber seals, handles, sills and surrounding brick before spraying thin coats of a coating made for uPVC. Spraying is weather-dependent, so St Ives jobs are best booked spring to early autumn. The full method, products and FAQs are on our upvc spraying page.
