Garden timber on the town's family homes
Fences go grey, gates split along their edges and shed doors swell where water gets in. We clean off algae and dirt, using a gentler method on rough-sawn panels, then let the wood dry fully before applying stain or opaque garden paint.
Gates take the most handling, so every face including the top and bottom edges is finished. On sheds, the bottom boards and door edges get extra attention because they sit in splashback.
Flats and shared gardens
One home in five here is a flat. Communal fencing around a block usually belongs to the freeholder or management company, and we are happy to quote them directly. Our garden painting page covers paints, stains and colour choices.

How we approach shed, fence & gate painting
We protect plants and paving, scrape and sand flaking paint on sheds and gates, and mark rotten boards before starting. Posts and gravel boards get a full coat, not a quick pass. On long fence runs we may use the Graco sprayer if overspray can be controlled; otherwise it is brush work in dry weather. The full method, products and FAQs are on our shed, fence & gate painting page.
