Gardens behind terraces and semis
Terraced houses, about a quarter of St Neots homes, often have narrow gardens with long fence runs either side. Semis and detached houses add side gates and wider boundaries. We flag rotten posts and boards at the visit, and our carpenter or master builder can deal with them first.
If you live in one of the town's 2,400 or so flats, a shared garden may be the landlord's or management company's responsibility, so check before booking.
Shed and fence products and timing
Opaque paint gives an even colour across boards that have weathered differently; stain shows the grain. Darker colours make a fence recede into planting, while pale shades lift a shady corner. We work from late spring to early autumn where possible, and test patches let you live with a colour for a few days. Our reviews include a Cambridge customer delighted with his shed.

How we approach shed, fence & gate painting
We clean off algae and dirt, using a jet wash with anti-fungal wash where suitable and a gentler method on rough-sawn panels. Flaking paint is scraped and sanded, nearby plants and paving protected, and timber left to dry. Posts and gravel boards get a full coat. We brush most work and spray only where overspray can be kept off neighbours' property. The full method, products and FAQs are on our shed, fence & gate painting page.
