Shed, fence and gate painting in Sandy
On a terraced plot, the fences either side may belong to different households, so check which ones are yours before the visit. We'll paint a neighbour's side only with their agreement.
Detached and semi-detached homes, around 58% of the total, can bring longer runs of fencing. Posts and gravel boards fail first there, so they get a full coat rather than a quick pass.
Products and preparation
Moss, algae and loose fibres come off first. Graham then recommends either a solid garden paint, which hides the grain and evens out boards that have weathered differently, or a stain that lets the grain show and is often easier to recoat.
Late spring to early autumn is the usual window for this work. The house can be painted at the same time; see exterior painting, and our reviews include a Cambridge customer delighted with his shed.

How we approach shed, fence & gate painting
We clean with an anti-fungal wash where the timber suits it, scrape and sand flaking paint, and protect plants and paving. Sheds get every board, trim and barge board, with extra attention on the bottom boards. Gates have hinges masked and end grain coated. Our Graco sprayer is used only where overspray can be controlled. The full method, products and FAQs are on our shed, fence & gate painting page.
