Frames that have faded, or never suited the house
Even on newer houses, white plastic frames can dull or yellow, and some owners simply want grey or black frames to match a repainted door. Spraying changes the colour where the windows are, so the glass, seals and fittings stay put.
Nine in ten Cambourne homes are houses rather than flats, so most owners can decide on their own frames. If you are among the roughly 8% of households in shared ownership, or your home is leasehold, check whether you need consent before changing colour.
How the spraying is done
The frames are cleaned and degreased to lift the film that builds up on plastic outdoors, then lightly keyed. Glass, seals, handles and brickwork are masked off and the frames are sprayed on site in coatings made for uPVC. It is weather-dependent work, best booked between spring and early autumn. See the uPVC spraying page for colours.

How we approach upvc spraying
Graham checks each frame for cracks or failed seals first, because a coating will not fix a window that needs replacing. The frames are then washed, degreased and keyed, everything around them is masked, and the uPVC coating is sprayed in thin coats with drying time between, on a dry, mild day. The full method, products and FAQs are on our upvc spraying page.
