uPVC spraying in Comberton
Spraying changes the colour of the frames without touching the glass, seals or fittings. Each frame is cleaned and degreased to lift the film plastic picks up outdoors, keyed so the coating can grip, and masked along the glass, seals, handles, sills and brickwork. The coating is made for uPVC, unlike ordinary exterior paint.
More than nine in ten homes in the village are houses, so a typical job covers windows on two floors, a front door and sometimes French doors or a conservatory.
Check before changing colour
Comberton has two conservation areas and 42 listed buildings. A change of window colour on a listed home or in a conservation area may need permission, so ask South Cambridgeshire District Council before settling on a dark grey or green.
Timber windows on older cottages are painted by brush instead; see sash window work in Comberton.

How we approach upvc spraying
Spraying depends on the weather, so we book it for dry, mild spells between spring and early autumn. Graham checks each frame first, since a cracked frame or failed seal won't be fixed by a coating. Then it's clean, degrease, key and mask, followed by thin sprayed coats with drying time between them. The full method, products and FAQs are on our upvc spraying page.
