Exterior house painting for Comberton's 1960s and 1970s houses
Houses from the 1965 to 1982 period, about 62% of the village, often mix facing brick with painted render panels, timber cladding and long fascia boards. Each surface needs its own product, so Graham walks round the outside first to note cracked render, soft timber and failing paint.
Shaded walls are cleaned with an anti-fungal jet wash and left to dry before any paint goes on. Repairs are listed in your written quotation, and our master builder and carpenter take on anything beyond filling.
Conservation areas and older frontages
Comberton has two conservation areas, Comberton St Mary's and Comberton Village. If your house is in one of them, or among the village's listed buildings, check with South Cambridgeshire District Council before changing an outside colour. We can paint test patches on a discreet wall so you can judge a shade in daylight.
Fences and sheds can be done in the same visit; see garden timber painting in Comberton.

How we approach exterior painting
Exterior work is planned for the drier months. We jet wash with an anti-fungal solution, scrape and sand loose paint, fill masonry cracks and prime bare timber on fascias and sills. Breathable masonry paint goes on render, and exterior-grade gloss or satin on wood. Paths, plants and windows are masked first. The full method, products and FAQs are on our exterior painting page.
