uPVC spraying on Northstowe's young frames
Over 95% of the town's homes date from 2000 or later. Their frames will mostly still be clean and sound, which makes them good candidates if you'd like grey, green or off-black instead of white.
The process is the same whatever their age. Frames are cleaned, degreased and keyed, the glass, seals and brickwork masked, and the frames sprayed on site in coatings made for uPVC. Graham checks each frame first and will tell you if one isn't suitable.
Before you choose a colour
No conservation area lies mainly within Northstowe, but some homes come with estate rules or covenants about external appearance. It's worth reading yours before committing to a darker frame colour.
Houses made up nearly 89% of homes here in 2021, so front doors, French doors and conservatory frames can usually be done in the same visit as the windows. Spraying depends on the weather, so we book it from spring to early autumn. See our uPVC spraying page for more.

How we approach upvc spraying
We wash and degrease each frame to remove the film that builds up on plastic outdoors, then key the surface so the coating bonds. Glass, seals, handles and surrounding brick are masked carefully. Frames are sprayed on site in coatings made for uPVC, on dry, mild days between spring and early autumn. The full method, products and FAQs are on our upvc spraying page.
