Late-1960s and newer exteriors
The town has 770 homes from 1965 to 1972. Houses of that age have had more than fifty years of weather on their fascias, soffits and render, and the timber often needs repairs before paint.
Newer homes, at least 1,270 of them built since 2009, usually need less repair but still benefit from cleaning and a fresh coat on exterior timber. Graham surveys every elevation, notes cracked render or soft wood, and prices repairs into the written quotation so nothing comes as a surprise.
Colour in the Buntingford conservation area
Buntingford has a conservation area and 98 listed buildings, including Victoria House and 66 High Street at Grade II*. On those, speak to East Hertfordshire District Council before changing the exterior colour. Elsewhere, we can paint test patches so you can see a shade against your neighbours' houses in daylight. Period sash windows have their own restoration page.

How we approach exterior painting
The walk-round comes first, then an anti-fungal jet wash and a proper drying period. We scrape and sand loose paint, repair masonry and render, and prime bare timber. Paths, windows and plants are masked before breathable masonry paint goes on walls, with undercoat and gloss or satin on woodwork. Because Buntingford is a longer drive, we watch the forecast closely before each day. The full method, products and FAQs are on our exterior painting page.
