How we respray Baldock frames
Every frame is washed and degreased to remove the film plastic picks up outdoors, then lightly abraded so the coating can grip. Glass, seals, handles, sills and brickwork are masked, and the frames are sprayed on site using coatings made for uPVC, never standard exterior paint.
Front doors, French doors and conservatory frames can be done the same way. Roughly four in five Baldock homes are houses, so for most owners the whole set of frames is theirs to change, while flat owners should check the lease first.
Conservation area rules and the right season
Baldock has a conservation area and 104 listed buildings. If your home is in the conservation area or listed, ask North Hertfordshire District Council before changing frame colour.
The coating needs dry, mild weather, so spring to early autumn is the time to book. If some windows are timber, we brush-paint those to match, and period sashes are covered on our sash window restoration page.

How we approach upvc spraying
We inspect each Baldock frame and point out any cracks or failed seals, as a coating changes colour but won't repair them. Then come cleaning, degreasing and keying, careful masking of glass and brick, and spraying in thin coats with drying time between each. Windows open again once the coating has cured enough to handle. The full method, products and FAQs are on our upvc spraying page.
