Interior decorating in Stotfold's newer homes
Newer houses tend to show hairline cracks at plasterboard joints and around door frames as the building dries out. We fill and sand those, seal thin original paint where needed and repaint ceilings, walls and woodwork in finishes that cope with family life.
With 44.5% of homes having three bedrooms and 28% four or more, a whole-house job is sizeable. We can work a few rooms at a time so the house stays usable.
Older houses and rented homes
Around 350 homes predate 1919, and another 420 or so are interwar. Plaster in those is often uneven, so lining paper, stain-blocking and patient filling come before colour.
Private landlords house about 10% of households and social landlords 12.5%. For rented homes we use washable finishes such as Little Greene Intelligent Matt Emulsion that can be touched up between tenants. Damaged ceilings can go to our plasterers in Stotfold first.

How we approach interior decorating
We sheet floors and furniture, fill settlement cracks, sand with Mirka dust-free sanders and mist-coat any fresh plaster before full coats. Woodwork is keyed and finished in satin or eggshell, with Tikkurila and Dulux among the makers we use. Testers go on more than one wall so you can judge each colour in your own light. The full method, products and FAQs are on our interior decorating page.
