Shops, offices and High Street premises
We plan commercial decorating around your trading hours, keep exits clear and agree where materials and equipment are stored. Shopfronts can be done early in the day or in quieter spells so the door stays open. We've decorated shops before, including Chocolat Chocolat, which appears in our gallery.
In listed premises or the conservation areas, check with Uttlesford District Council before changing exterior colours. We hold £5 million public liability insurance and can supply a copy of the policy.
Flats above shops and rented homes
The 2021 Census counted 1,279 privately rented households and 1,182 in social housing, plus 228 in converted or shared houses. Landlords need marks made good, stains blocked and rooms repainted between tenancies, often to a fixed date.
We use washable finishes such as Little Greene Intelligent Matt Emulsion, which touches up well at the next changeover. For larger buildings, a team of 12 lets us work to a deadline, as we did across 38 rooms at Westminster College.

How we approach commercial painting
For a Saffron Walden shop or office we agree the room order and hours first, then fill and sand with Mirka dust-free sanders, stain-block marks with Zinsser and paint in low-odour, washable finishes where staff or customers are present. Wet-paint signs go up, walkways stay clear, and the site is tidied every evening. The full method, products and FAQs are on our commercial painting page.
