Shed and fence painting in Linton
On a semi-detached plot, the dividing fence may be shared or owned by one side. We can only paint fences that are yours, or the neighbour's face with their agreement, so it's worth checking before the visit.
Fence posts and gravel boards fail first, so they get a full coat. Gates have their latches masked and every edge coated, including the end grain at top and bottom.
Getting the finish to last
Moss, algae and dirt come off first, and the wood dries out before anything goes on. Graham will suggest an opaque garden paint if you want a solid colour, or a stain if you'd rather see the grain. Test patches let you judge a colour against your planting for a few days.
Late spring to early autumn gives the most reliable drying weather. If the house needs painting as well, exterior painting in Linton uses the same preparation.

How we approach shed, fence & gate painting
We clean off algae with an anti-fungal wash where the timber suits it, or a gentler clean on rough-sawn panels. Flaking paint on sheds and gates is scraped and sanded, plants and paving are protected, and rotten boards are flagged before we start. Shed door edges and window frame undersides get extra attention, as water gets in there first. The full method, products and FAQs are on our shed, fence & gate painting page.
