Painting kitchen units in Linton
Council Tax records date roughly 31% of Linton homes to 1983 or later, the decades of painted-timber and MDF fitted kitchens that take paint well once prepared properly. Graham checks the door material at the visit and tells you plainly if a finish is unlikely to hold paint.
The written quotation lists the units, panels and plinths included, along with the colour and finish.
Preparation, then the finish
The first day is mostly cleaning and sanding. Grease near the hob and around handles is removed, the old finish is keyed with Mirka dust-free sanders, chips are filled, and a Zinsser primer goes on to suit the surface. Then come two coats of a proper woodwork paint in eggshell or satin.
Long runs of slab doors are often sprayed with our Graco Ultra handheld sprayer, while Shaker doors in a small kitchen are usually better brushed. Built-in wardrobes and alcove shelves can share the booking, alongside other woodwork in Linton.

How we approach kitchen cabinet painting
Handles come off and doors are labelled so each returns to its own place. Worktops, tiles, floors and appliances are masked before any primer. We degrease, sand, fill and prime, then lay off two top coats by brush or spray. Timber worktops can be sanded and oiled with Osmo while the doors cure. The full method, products and FAQs are on our kitchen cabinet painting page.
