Keeping a sound kitchen in a Willingham home
About 22% of properties in the village date from 1983 to 1999, and nearly 31% from 2000 onwards. Many still have their first or second fitted kitchen. If the carcasses are sound and the layout works, painting the doors and panels changes the look without ripping anything out.
Owner-occupiers make up around 69% of Willingham households, with roughly a third of all households paying a mortgage. For many of them, refreshing a kitchen they already own is a sensible use of the budget. Graham will tell you at the visit if your doors are unlikely to hold paint.
Spray or brush for your kitchen units
We use a Graco Ultra cordless airless handheld sprayer on flat slab doors and long runs of panels. In smaller kitchens, or on Shaker-style doors, a brush and roller often makes more sense once masking time is counted. Many of our kitchen cabinet painting jobs use a mix of both.

How we approach kitchen cabinet painting
Doors are labelled, handles removed, and every surface degreased, especially near the hob. We sand with Mirka dust-free sanders, fill chips, and choose a Zinsser primer to suit the existing finish. Top coats are a woodwork eggshell or satin from Tikkurila, Farrow & Ball or Dulux. Timber worktops can be oiled with Osmo afterwards. The full method, products and FAQs are on our kitchen cabinet painting page.
