Rented homes make up more than a third of Papworth
The 2021 Census shows 376 households renting from a social landlord, about 25%, and 166 renting privately. Together that's more than a third of the village's 1,530 households.
For landlords and letting agents, work between tenancies has to be quick and hard-wearing. We make good marks and fixings, seal water and smoke stains with Zinsser, repaint in washable finishes and refresh woodwork and doors. Our builder and carpenter can take on small repairs as part of the same job.
Commercial painters for shops, offices and other premises
Ermine Street, the old North Road, runs through the village as the A1198. For a shop, office or other premises in Papworth, we plan around opening hours: working areas are agreed in advance, fire exits stay clear, and out-of-hours work can be discussed where daytime isn't practical.
Our larger projects include 38 rooms at Westminster College and student flats in Colchester for JR Pickstocks. Details of how we work are on the commercial painting page.

How we approach commercial painting
For a rented property we agree the handover date first, then the order of rooms. Tenant marks are filled, stains sealed and walls painted in a washable emulsion that touches up well next time. For occupied premises we section off areas, keep exits clear and record finished rooms, with enough of our 12 decorators on site to meet the date. The full method, products and FAQs are on our commercial painting page.
