About us
Graham Halpenny Decorators is a Dulux Select painting and decorating company based in Landbeach, just north of Cambridge. Graham visits every job himself and writes every quotation; Belinda organises the projects and keeps customers informed.
Our 12 decorators are all City & Guilds or NVQ qualified. You'd learn from them on everything from family homes and new builds to Victorian and listed houses, offices and Cambridge colleges.
What you'll do
- Learning how to prepare surfaces properly: filling, sanding, masking and protecting floors and furniture.
- Learning to paint walls, ceilings and woodwork with brush and roller, and to cut in neat lines.
- Helping the team on site, carrying materials and keeping each job clean and tidy.
- Working in customers' homes and treating them with care.
What you need
- No experience needed: we'll teach you.
- Reliable, careful and keen to learn a trade.
- To meet the government's eligibility rules for an apprenticeship in England.
- A full UK driving licence and your own transport: our jobs are spread across Cambridge and the towns and villages around it.
- The right to work in the UK.
Welcome, but not essential
- Any experience of painting, DIY or practical work, or a construction course at school or college.
