Belinda and her team redecorated my 17-yr old, tired 1-bedroom flat in Cambridge (painting, small repairs) – they did a fantastic job, and the place now looks like new again. Not only that, the Halpenny people are just very friendly human beings to have around for what was a couple of days... I am very happy with the work.

This is the 6th time that Graham Halpenny Decorators have done work for us. Yet again the standard was excellent and met all our requirements. Jack did the painting for us and he was excellent, we would thoroughly recommend him. We are already getting a quote for the next painting job. All the decorators we have had, even on the previous decorating jobs, have all been very professional, very polite, very tidy and all done outstanding work. We would have no hesitation to recommend this company.

Nothing is so satisfying as finding painters and decorators who are truly professional; take a pride in their work; and are a pleasure to have around (and who are able to give sound advice on the work in hand). We have had the front and back of our house repainted, and are 100% satisfied with the work done. Graham Halpenny gave us a thorough and fair quotation for the work (and I've made a mental note never to trust anyone who gives you a figure off the top of their head, and provides no paperwork!)

So incredibly impressed with Graham, Belinda and their team. It was a pleasure from start to finish. Belinda was always available to contact and responded quickly. Decoration of living room, hall and dining room

Living room and kitchen redec

I was pleased that Graham and his wife Belinda could fit me in before Christmas. As a returning customer I knew my home was in safe hands. I was delighted to with the end result, neat and tidy working and a real eye for detail. It was a pleasure to have Lucy and Jack decorate my home. I would highly recommend this family company.

Painted 3 storey landing and stairs and varnished handrails

We are extremely happy with the professional finish. He tidied up every evening, so that we wouldn't have known he'd been here during the day. Perfectly happy to leave the key with him while at work. Would use again.

Re-skimmed cracked ceiling (covering artex). Cut and filled numerous wall cracks and made good decoration.

Bedroom decorated

We asked Graham Halpenny to decorate a bedroom for us after having been very happy with his work on our other bedroom a couple of years ago. As before the work was completed very efficiently and quickly and the results excellent. Jack and Lucy did a superb job of transforming a very old and tired looking room to a bright and lovely space. Graham and Belinda are very helpful and easy to deal with and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

“This is a family firm that really cares and delivers to a high standard. Belinda has been so helpful in arranging and delivering the highest standard of work throughout. She helped with binging in a plasterer electrician and carpenter.

Graham oversaw and helped with the work. Simon and Jack worked to a very high standard throughout. Great service and value. Not the cheapest quote but no hidden extras and lots of extras given to us. We had our Hairdressing Salon updated and painted by Jack. He worked hard to finnish the work quickly so that I could reopen the shop but still maintained a very high standard of work.

As a landlord, having a prompt reliable company that can turn around properties to a high standard is vital. I have been working for Graham for many years now and as he has expanded and his team has grown I am more and more impressed. Excellent attention to detail, and I can rely upon Graham to find other good trades who work to the same high standard.

Graham painted our whole house, we were really pleased with the work.
It was a big job, the staff cleared up every day and took pride in their work. Would definitely recommend them and use them again.

We are both very pleased with the end result, it was a bit of a leap of faith when it came to putting black on the wall but we think we got away with it!
Josh and Lucy were great and we would be happy to have the services of josh again when we redo the hall stairs and landing later this year if you can all tolerate us again!

For your record I thought your company was brilliant & took the stress out of having to juggle two trades. Your chaps worked really hard & both the plastering and the redecorating were done to a very high standard.
You got the colours correct too for which I am very grateful.
I feel I can rely on you & will certainly use you in the future.

We choose Graham’s company because of their very quick response to our enquiry and their site visit was followed-up the next day with the quote for the work. While we were detailing the work we wanted done, they listened carefully.

They were able to start work very quickly after the site visit and Andrew arrived at 7.30 each morning and finished around 3. In the few week’s they were here, I saw that Andrew did a huge amount of work to prepare the surfaces for the final result. As we are in a Victorian property with the original sand/stone plaster, this meant a lot of preparation work had to be done!

Halfway through the project unfortunately found that one of our chosen colours did not look as we had expected. Graham brought us a massive colour chart that enabled us to choose a couple of tester pots. Andrew then painted them on the walls in different places so we could see them in different lights and we were able to choose one, which was ultimately perfect. When the gloss paint for a little too strong smelling, they helped to try and reduce the smell with lemons and water. Every day Andrew left the rooms neat and tidy.

When the work was complete we were absolutely delighted with the end result; a navy blue ceiling is not what most projects would have and Graham and Andrew took on the challenge admirably. It has resulted in a realisation of the image we had in our mind’s eye. We had a couple of spots that needed touching up once the paint had dried and settled and they came back in to complete that a few weeks later.

We were very pleased with how Graham, Belinda and Andrew helped us achieve what we were after by going above and beyond and ensuring that their customer service is excellent. I will be asking them to come back and complete more decorating work in the future.

I have waited until now to leave a review, because the effectiveness of the treatment is relevant.

Details of the job:-
To remove bad mould from a bathroom ceiling and wall tops in our rental property. After removal, seal with mould sealer and re-decorate affected areas.

An excellent job, done at extremely short notice, still perfect after 18 months.
The cost was lower than I expected in view of the urgency.

Thank you so much for the fantastic work which Pete and Josh did for us at such short notice. You really got us out of a hole, and I was so impressed throughout - from my first contact with you through to waving the guys off at the end. The rooms look absolutely wonderful and we couldn't have asked for better before our house move.

We will definitely be in touch in the new year when we will require more interior work done, and some exterior painting as well.

My elderly parents needed the outside of their house painted. We were worried about cost but were quoted a very reasonable price. The job was done very well. The staff were punctual and polite to my parents. I also had a very small area of my house painted outside at the same time and again the job has been done well for a very reasonable price.
